LOW CARBON BUSINESS ACTION IN BRAZIL


The project Low Carbon Business Action is a European-funded initiative that aims at engaging Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) from Brazil and from 28 Member States in Europe promoting the exchange of innovative experiences, supporting companies into their transition to low carbon technologies and resource efficient processes within the Action’s target sub-sectors and related areas, which mostly contribute to the Brazilian emissions of Greenhouse Gases (GHG)

Brick plant based on vegetable fibres

Brazilian engineering company Arquiar Engenharia, together with iNergy Agtech, an European company from Romania, are cooperating to build a brick plant based on vegetable fibres from coconut and cashew. Rice production in rotation with corn and wheat

By utilizing central pivot irrigation, instead of flood-irrigation for rice production, the new rice crop rotation system with corn and wheat may improve product quality and maintain crop yield, while making it even more lucrative with the other crops. Technology to prevent the risk of forest fires

Aria Technologies Company, that is specialized in information and satellite monitoring systems, intends to bring to Brazil a solution that has already been implemented in many European countries, especially in Portugal and Spain. The pilot project will be implemented in Santa Catarina, together with members of the Association of Forestry Companies from the State of Santa Catarina (ACR) and will reduce the impact of forest fires on GHG emissions from forest fires.

The Dome Project

Dedicated to cattle raising, this project studies the technical, economic and commercial viability, and the implementation of pilot projects for small domes with the purpose of identifying the best and most efficient method to collect and separate the methane-enriched gas (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) produced by ruminants. With the obtained data, it will be possible to acquire information to develop a large Dome plan and replication models.
