According to the Ministry of Mines and Energy in a report issued by the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Firjam), the state of Rio de Janeiro is the largest natural gas producer in the country, responsible for about 47% of national production, and is also the largest consumer market, with more than one quarter of the country's total demand. Natural gas is becoming day after day the protagonist in the Brazilian energy sector, due to its diversity and energy efficiency and the RenovaBio project.

The governmental measure to recognize the strategic role of all types of biofuels in the Brazilian energy matrix, RenovaBio, will make this biofuel increasingly present in the Brazilian energy matrix, to strengthen the fuel market and generate energy efficiency gains and greenhouse gas emission reductions in fuel production, marketing and use.

The project we are going to highlight below brought together a company from Rio de Janeiro – dedicated to developing solutions to generate energy from natural gas – and a Finnish company – that has pioneered a lubrication technology that reduces fuel and oil consumption while extending the useful life of the main components of engines and machines.
